Windows Media Player 7

I run Windows 2000 (SP4) and have a recent change in WMP that has be puzzled. Whenever i view a MPEG file, drag and resize the window, the picture does not enlarge correspondingly. In another words, regardless of how much i enlarge the window, the picture size remains the same.

It's strange how this has happened because I don't remember chaning anything in the WMP settings to affect this. The only thing i changed in the registry setting (that might be related) is the CD Player. When i upgraded to WMP 7.1, M$ in all it's wisdom assumed that it would be the default player for all my audio/music CDs. I found the registry key that automatically starts WMP for audio/music CDs and changed it to CDPlayer.exe. Other than that - i don't recall any changes to my registry that would have this kind of a problem.

Any suggestions?

Upgrade to Windows Media Player 9.01 - I believe its out on Microsoft's website right now. That also reminds me - how fast is your computer - or how much processes can it take? CPU? Memory?

Hope that helps,
kram

Kram, that's not an option. I'm so poor right now i can't afford internet and if i did - I would really hesitate upgrading to WMP 9. I just think it's totally bloated s/w and dont' care much for M$'s multimedia software applications. Besides, the only time i use WMP is when i watch MPEG or such files on my PC.

I come to the library to use their PC and get my internet fix for the day whenever i have a few minutes to kill. Otherwise, i don't have any access to the internet unless I go the local internet cafe and shell out $$$$ to surf for a few minutes. As i'm currently on the job hunt, that's not a viable option.

I will go home later and see if there is such a setting under the 'View' menu - i don't recall seeing such an option under 7.1 version but i will take another look tonight to verify.

That did the trick Statica - thanks. I had a vague recollection of seeing that feature and couldn't for the life of me remember it. It was tucked away under the 'Zoom' submenu.
