I went to start my pc this morning for the first time, and it wouldnt boot to windows. It went to the window about asking for typing r for recovery. I put the xp cd in and tried to recover, and it would just go back to the same screen. I tried a reinstall and it reformatted quick format and tried to copy files to harddrive, but got to about 9% and wouldnt copy anymore .dll files?
Is this probably a harddrive problem? |

Post your system specs by brand and model number. Gotta know what quality your parts are.
Do you mean this is a totally new build? Did the WinXP installation go okay? Cricket

Some viruses can't be disposed of so easily... maybe you should try a FULL format as quick format only destroys the TOC.

I tried a full format, but it would stop at 5% and wouldnt go no further. Anyway, I tried another harddrive off an old pc and booted ok, so I replaced the hd and it works great.
Thanks everybody |
