Put A Shutdown or Restart Icon On Your Desktop
Hi From Fort Worth
I have been using a desktop icon to shut down my PC. I just click it on when I want to shut down. In my case , it shuts down faster, or it is less trouble to shutdown with one click. I have always used one click and not the two click . I hated to double click all the time. One click will get it. Anyway , you can try it or not to see if it is for you. I like it a lot.------Don P.S.: when choosing an icon , I chose the RED CIRCLE with the line within the circle. Red is easy to find if you have a lot of icons. When I look at my desk top , the red stands out and I can go to it easily Want a quicker way to shut down, log off or reboot your computer, instead of going through the several clicks involved in doing it the normal way? Here's how you can create icons on the desktop that will allow you to perform any of these tasks with one click: 1. Right click an empty spot on the desktop. 2. In the context menu, select New | Shortcut. 3. In the Create Shortcut wizard, where it asks you to type the location of the item, type the following: shutdown -s -t 00 (for shutdown), shutdown -r -t 00 (for restart) or shutdown -l -t 00 (for logoff). Now you can click on the appropriate icon to quickly shut down, reboot, or log off. |
