Ok, This is a fresh build I started this morning. I got the bios configured and then restarted the pc with windows xp pro cd in cd rom, It formated my new WD. 160 gig hard drive fine then started loading windows. Then it stopped and says SETUP CAN NOT COPY FILE: oembios.bin
Press ENTER to retry ESC to Skip Caution: If you skip this file windows setup may not complete and windows xp maynot work properly F3 to quite setup. What should I do? I am sitting here staring at this screen... Thanks for any fast help Last edited by dorkn; 02-29-2004 at 02:56 PM. |

XP is particular about RAM. What kind and how much do you have? If you have multiple sticks, try removing one.
What are the other specs of your PC? Is this OEM or retail version of XP. Chas

I think it is going to work this time... Stupid me put the oem sticker on the cd with the key code so I wouldn't loose it. Well I think that made for a unbalanced cd spinning so fast. So I pulled the sticker off and put it on the manual that came with xp. And The cd sounds alot quieter now when spinning.
So I restarted the pc and reformated the drive and reloaded xp and no problems thus this far. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your help... |
