I got a really strange problem. I just got WinXP, so not 100% familiar with it. When I get on the internet, my home page is set to msn.com. when it gets there, the page looks like my kids typed it on a manual typewriter with some pics thrown in. So i go to VIEW, ENCODING and it is set on UNICODE 8. So I select WESTERN EUROPEAN, an viola, looks like the site is supposed to.....until i close the browser and it starts all over again. I even selected the AUTO-SELECT option to no avail. My font size is ok, and makes no difference as to how the pages look (even other websites look "kindergarten-ish", not just my home page, until I do the above steps). What am I missing here? Why does nit not hold my setting? HELP!!

What language is set as default in your IE?
Check out TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > Languages. Select English as the first one. Also, what language is your OS set to? |

Are you using Western European (Windows) or Western European (ISO)?
Mine is set to Western European (Windows) and holds the setting. Chas

It is set as English, and does not matter what I set the Western Euro to, ISO or West European, sill goes to Unicode after I close the browser and then reopen it. ????? P.S., how do I set the OS? I believe it is set to English, UK.
