Help with XP Pro and upgrade machine

Gang I need some help. I have a unit that I am working on for a customer that is currently running XP Pro, he has a full blown version of XP. What we found is a bad harddrive, so they want to basically go ahead and upgrade to a custom built unit. My question is do they need to buy a new version of XP Pro or can we still use their current version. I have not done much with XP and am not sure. Please let me know.

Thanks

They can still use the current version, they or you will just have to reactivate it. The worst case is having to call MS and expaining the reason to transfer the copy to the new box which takes no more than 5 minutes.

Make sure he has a full RETAIL version. Only that version can be TRANSFERRED to another machine. But machines can get "upgraded" with other versions. What's an upgrade?

Send a message via MSN to QuickSilver
Most likely you will not even have to deal with Mikeysoft, but if you do, no big deal.
