reinstalling windows me, my first time.

My dads computer crashed. i want to know how to reinstall and clean the hard drive without a boot disk. can i? please help!

Your windows CDROM should be bootable, just need to enter BIOS setup right at the beginning and check to see that CDROM is a boot option. Once you successfully boot from windows cdrom it will prompt you along so you can reformat and reinstall windows. Are you sure you may not need to replace some hardware on that PC first?? Depending on why and what crashed you may need to replace the harddrive or some other parts first, but give the boot from cdrom a try and you'll find out pretty quick wether the hardrive and everything else is good...

Boot from the WinME CD to a command prompt with CD support. Enter the following commands

D: (or sub in the right CD-Rom drive letter)
CD Win9x
Format C:/q
Setup
