Hey Everyone,
Here is what is going on. I recently backed up my computer to the hard drive, when I did this everything went fine. Now I am attempting to use that backup from the hard drive. The problem is that I think I am using a different build of Windows 2000 the reason for this is because I broke my original Win2K disk and installed from a friends copy. Now when I try to use the backup like I said, it is telling me that the backup is not usable, please delete it or create another backup. That is crap. If anyone knows how I could work around this then please e-mail me at frobro390@aol.com. Also so you know the thing that I think it really the problem is the version or build of Windows Backup and the current builds inability to read a "better" version. Ahhhhh. Anthony |

Hey Everyone,
I have figured out what is going on, basically the drive that I have the backup on is a 200gb drive and Windows 2000 with out at least service pack 3 does not natively support drives of this size. So the information on this drive is more then likely corrupt since Win2k automatically runs chkdsk on the drive when setup is complete. The problem with that is that Win2k thought the drive was smaller then it was in reality and changed all the file information when everything was fine. It looks like the backup is toast and so is all the information I thought was safe on that drive. Well you live and you learn. Anthony |
