It sounds more like you don't have Adobe Acrobat, the Acrobat is damaged, you don't have certain plugins, or you have the newest version which seems to take a very long time to display the file.

I could also be a very large PDF. Sometimes I think I'm frozen, but it's just that large of file...

Have you checked for updates as morriswindgate suggested? Can't think of anything new off the top of my head...

Try reinstalling Acrobat Reader, it will reinstall the plugins.

pdf loads slowly. I don't know why. Even on fast machines. To speed things up, I open the reader first. Then, other documents will open faster.

I usually save the document on the hard disk, and then open it in the reader.

From what I read and hear is that web designers shouldn't use pdf documents. I even heard one expert saying that is was the "lazy" way of designing.
As for your problem it might be a memory problem, but then again I'm no expert in this matter, although I have in the past reading pdf files myself from the web.

hmm, PDF isn't really web design, it's used for documents that need to be printed or shouldn't be modified, like online bills, you can't design a web site using PDF only.

Sorry... long day
- Did you remove it using the uninstaller? You may have to do a Registry clean. At least delete all the old Acrobat files and folders. Hopefully it will help.TwoRails edit: I have to learn to type faster.... glad to hear you have it working

i had a similar problem on my old win98se machine...i could load a pdf once, but not twice before restarting my machine. i solved it by uninstalling and re-downloading.
