Boom Kernel Fault Check

My computer crashes at random all the time and when it restarts I get this message in my ad-watch monitor that it blocked a registry modification:

Root: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
Value: KernelFaultCheck
Data:
New Data: %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
Attempt to alter the autostartup section (Blocked)

Does anyone know what this means?

If you could help it would be great, windows error report told me that it had something to do with new hardware conflict but I haven't installed anything for almost a year.

Hello Hat Trick,

I would do a quick virus scan with www.trendmicro.com free online virus scanner.

I would also check for spyware with both spybot search and destroy and Adaware(You can find them both if you do a google search.)

Hope that helps.

I have PC Cillin, and ad-aware pro. They both come up with nothing. I will try Spybot and let you know what happens.

Thanks

That's normal after a crash - it wants to prepare the minidump report. You can change this in control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery. I'd recommend you uncheck restart on error so you can read the bluescreen for clues to the cause.
