What happened to my Icons??????

I started up my computer today, and when I did I had some of my icons, and then others were missing...such as my computer, outlook, and others....how do I get them back....what could have caused this?

reboot again and if it isn't fixed you can try tweakui and the repair icons tab

Go to Start>Control Panel>Apperance and Themes (or Display for classic view). Click Display. Under Desktop tab click Customize Desktop make sure all desktop icons are checked. Click OK. If they are checked then uncheck them all and click ok. And then repeat the steps above...and make sure they are all checked then click ok.

I would also run some anti-virus programs as well as spyware removal programs (e.g. Spybot or Ad-aware>

I don't know what happened because I was just randomly doing something, after I ran ad-aware (nothing happened)...but then they just all came back. It was really weird.
