printer problems under win xp
hey guys
i've been having some problems with my inkjet printer, a canon bjc-4200, working under windows xp. i got an upated driver from canon's site & installed it today, after having removed the old driver that i'd loaded from the original disk. it's still having problems, and when i send a document to it (i've been trying to print from coreldraw 8), the status window for the printer shows that the document is printing, but nothing ever happens at the printer. any ideas? also -- another related thing i've been wondering that's been really bugging me in all this is that, when i try to cancel a print document from that window, it takes forever to delete it. this also happened with an old epson dot matrix i was using on this computer. any idea why it takes so long? thank you! |

I had a similar problem with an HP deskjet and WinXP. I installed a parallel to USB adapter and it works great now. Even though that particular model didn`t list USB support!!!
If you buy the adapter at Staples you tell them that you want to try it they`ll allow you to return it if it doesn`t work. Deleting print jobs in XP Home. Yes, I know it`s annoying. Haven`t found a fix yet. |
