Unrecognizable database format

Just upgraded a PC to MS XP from NT. Problem I am having is that I can not open an MS Access database since upgrading to XP.. I get an error "Unrecognizable Database Format". I have tried opening the database from an NT machine and it opens fine. Both PCs have MS Office 97 sp2.

any ideas

Open Access up and from the tools menu do a repair of the database, then do a compact and finally another repair of the compacted DB. Should fix it right up.

got to be the only user with the db to do this....

This kind of problem occured if you tried to open the database in an earlier version of Access (but the database was created in a older version). To recover that Database you need to convert the database to a previous version of Access, using your current version. By doing that you can recover your MDB Database. But this is not 100% sure.

If you still facing this problem then you can try Access repair software from http://www.repair-access-file.com/
