explorer view settings
Hi guys and gals,
I've had a nagging problem for months now that I can't put up with anymore and hope someone can help me with it. The problem has to do with my explorer view settings (I'm using XP home) which like to change from the settings I set all the time. This happens with the "view" setting, "arrange icons by" setting, and also the "details" setting at the top where you can add date modified, size etc. Sometimes the settings will stay the way I put them for a day, sometimes a few hours and sometimes a few minutes. I have tried all the settings in the folder options including "remember each folder's view settings".If anyone knows of a way to keep the settings or what the problem could be in my case please reply cause I think this is driving me insane.

Pentium,
Set the view you want on the c: drive if you haven't already and then try the following at a command prompt: EXPLORER /e,c:\ Windows Explorer should open and apply the settings for the c: drive to all of your folders. If this works for you and you don't want to have to type this in every time, you could create a batch file to run this command for you and place it on the desktop. If you need help with this, just let me know... Hope that works! -LW |
