i have a 100MBps home network but when i'm transfering files on it when i goto the task manager and click on Networking it shows the network as only being like .5% not even 1%!! whats wrong? shouldn't it be 100%??? even my dial-up connection gets up to 100% sometimes is something wrong?

Are you talking about 1% processor usage or something else?

Are you still getting a good transfer rate. Thats really all you should be worried about. As long as your still getting 100mbps or so it isn't really gonna matter.

I figured it out mathematically once that on a standard 100baseT network, a cable connection takes up, on average, under 1% of the available bandwidth. So there is nothing wrong with what you are getting. Look at the attachment to see a file transfer I did between computers here on my LAN.
Of course your dial-up modem will be maxing out its bandwidth, it only has 28k to max out!
