Win XP restore

I've just added Win XP Home to dual boot with my existing Win98se. Haven't activated it yet coz I'm not sure if I like it. Everything looks so strange!!
Anyway I hope someone here can help me out with some advice about System Restore.
XP has already allocated by default 12% hard disk to this and still warns that if this is used up I will have to make more space
e.g deleting unnecessary files and programs.
Nowhere does it say I can remove old restore backups that I don't need.
Can I? If so, how?
Or maybe those restore points should not be removed because they are linked somehow?
Thanks

When the restore uses up the alloted space it'll rotate and relaces the oldest retore points. Cna click on Start->Help and read more about it.

Go to Disk Cleanup in System Tools. Look at the More Options tab. Last item listed allows you to remove all but the latest restore point. I do it weekly along with running Adaware, Spybot, Registry Healer, and Defrag. Takes about 20 minutes. Use the first part of Disk Cleanup to remove Temp files, IE Temp files, etc.

Is there a way to pick which restore points you want to keep?

Thank you both for your help.
I think I could get used to XP, if only I knew where to find things!

If you want it to look more like Windows 98, just right click on the taskbar, select properties, and then select classic view and apply. You should feel more at home then.

also, if you don't like the new start menu, right-click the taskbar, select properties, go to start menu tab, and then select classic start menu, and click OK.
