We need a little more info here, what is failing and what are you using as boot disk?? How exactly are you going about installing XP.

The proceedures are as follow: In CMOS set boot from "CDrom" save and restart computer, boot starts from CD, CD start installation, then I delete old partition, and reformat, then, Windows start copying files to install, then I am told that the sys witll resart in 5 seconds. I let the system restart and it will (A) Restart the installation process from the WinXP CD, or (B) it will give the message Boot Disk Failure. That it almost in a nut shell.

Thanks - Henry

Is this a new build? If so, what brand is your hard drive? If it's a Western Digital and the drive is the only drive on that IDE channel, remove the jumper cap from the back of the drive.
If this is not a new build and you've already had this setup running prior to installing Windows XP, then you probably haven't yet gone back into the BIOS to reset the priority for it to attempt to boot first from the hard drive. Try doing that.

Thats it, removing the jumper from the hard drive. I'm back in the ball game. This is a new build i purchase at a computer show - got it home and that error message came.

Thanks, save me a trip to New York to the vendor.

Thanks again - Henry
