Do you get an option to click on a user?I have mine set up like this so either myself or my wife can click on a little pic icon to whichever one of us is using the comp can have our own personal settings,in other words click on the pic and ot logs us in wothout having to type a password.

You must only have one account on the PC. Guest account has to be turned off. The account cannot be password protected and the Welcome Screen should be visible.
e.n.

If you got the "NET Framework" update from the Windows update site, it set up another user. First, you probably don't need NET Framework...most people don't...so if it's in your Add/Remove Programs list, uninstall it.
If that doesn't fix the logon problem or if NET Framework wasn't in the list or if you want to keep NET Framework...go to Start>Run and type in (or copy and paste from here) "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes), click OK. In the User Accounts window that appears, uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name...etc" and then click OK. In the dialog box that pops up, enter the name and password of the user account you want to log onto. If there is no password, leave that field blank. Click OK. XP should now log onto the specified account automatically. |
