fqpissed Help! Mid - game/ windows xp reboots - critical error report

ATI radeon 7000 video card 64 mb
While playing intensive game like Battlefield '42 - computer suddenly goes blank and automatically reboots .
Message window states a critical error has occurred - if you do an error report - it provides -

BCCode 1000008E BCP2:80505820 BCP3:F052C6F0
BCP4:00000000 0SVer:5_1_2600 SP:1_0
Product: 256_1

This happens after limited game playing - each succesive time decreases the game playing capability.

Have been to the ATI site and downloaded drivers for XP.

Am running Windows XPpro with 256 PC3200 ddrm
I do have virtual memory configured to 354min/ 1152max.

Any ideas what I could try next. Thanks Jon

Have you run Windows Update to see if your PC is up to date? My system was doing the same although I wasn't playing games. After updating, it seems to be fine.

Hth,

Disable restart on error so you can read the bluescreen - this will give you the best clues. That error report is meaningless to anyone except a programmer.
