Disable Internet access?
We have this problem at work, some of the junior staff are using the internet to surf the web when they shoudn't be doing that. They're actually graduates on training, now we put them on Microsoft Windows Home edition but they keep dialing into the Internet. We can't take away the cable or disable the network because the training software doesn't work otherwise. So I was wondering, is there a way to stop then accessing the internet and outlook express with some kind of setting. We keep telling them not to do it but they don't listen, and we working on capturing the culprit.

Give them a limited account, and you can give and deny access to everything. If all they have to use is the training software, deny the access to everything else.
That way they won't be able to do anything else in their account than what you allow them. RJ

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately XP Home doesn't have those advance features as Pro does, additionally we can't do this because adding user privillages distrupts the way the training software works.
I am looking for anything, even third party software which will disable internet and outlook. |

XP Home does not have the ability of creating limited accounts ? Wow this is new to me.
Anyway, as far as outlook express is concerned, I would just remove it from the PC if it is not otherwise needed. Say, how are the PCs connected to the internet ? Is a single PC connected via telephone cable or dsl or whatever or is there a single internet connection for a LAN ? RJ |
