98 to xp ???
not sure bout this, but can you upgrade 98 to xp???
guy whos asking just doenst want to format his drive for a clean install, and has got loads of crap he wont get rid of!! cheers

Yes you can. It is generally a much better idea to start from scratch than upgrade, though.

XP has compatibility check built in or he can just run the one that's on Microsoft's site.
Given the number of 98 programs that won't run under XP or that will need to be removed and reinstalled before XP will run I bet you can get him to wipe the drive and install from a format. A couple of pages forecasting certain disaster can change just about anyone's mind. |
