Admin question

I have XP pro . Everytime I install a game on my profile, it installs the game on my wife and kids profiles. How can I keep this from happening? Also, how can I lock the Start button on a single profile to keep out the curious?
Thanks in advance. MOSWR or QDaddy1

for your first question, some installers ask whether you want to install links for all you users or just you, if not, go to c:\Documents and Settings\ there, you'll find a directory for every user, in this directory there is a Start Menu directory, there you can customize the start menu for each user.

did you setup an user account for each person? if you did, it shouldn't change the setting...

I'm at the folders but I'm unsure of the settings. What should I change to disable the Start for a profile?

First, make sure that your profile has the game's shortcuts, go to c:\Documents and Settings\your username\Start Menu\Programs\ and look for a folder with the game's name, if you have one, then just go to the rest of folders in C:\Documents and Settings, and delete this folder from \Start Menu\Programs if it exists, including C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.

If you don't have the folder in your profile's start menu, then the folder is in the All Users start menu, just go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs, and move the folder to your start menu folder.
