Win2000 upgrade couldn't find modem?
I installed Win2000 on a friends computer from Win98 but the new OS couldn't detect a "plug and play" modem. Tried installing the modem manually but no go. Does this mean the modem is just too old? Device Manager detected certain devices but had the yellow question mark so I guess no driver available. Would we be able to get those drivers off the internet?. Thanks.

You need to figure out exactly what that modem is, then you should be able to find a driver. If it's a PCI modem, it should be one of the flagged devices, probably "PCI Communications Device" or "PCI Serial Device". If you can find the correct driver, you should be able to open its properties and use the Install Driver option, point it to where you have extracted the driver - or if the driver has a Setup routine, just run Setup.
