Not sure what to do!

I only need the Dlink connection and I have tried to uninstall the other two (1394) but they come back at the next boot up. How do I get rid of them? Thanks

You can't, if you have firewire ports.

Talking

either firewire ieee394 or the other fast standard usb - 2.0 are ways to link an external drive either harddrive or dvdburner or cdburner etc with just a cable to use with your pc.
very handy to have and downloading video off of a camcorder equipped with either makes it a quick snap.

example. usb 1.0 has a transfer rate of about 12 mb per second while usb 2.0 is limited to about 480 mb per sec. firewire has roughly similar download speeds as compared to usb 2.0 [obviously not comparing to usb 1.0]

if you wanted to download video files to your pc from a camcorder, which speed would you want?

they are different transfer systems and are not
interchangeable. i have used both and they both work great compared to the old usb 1.0

also, cdburners that are used on usb 1.0 are limited to 4 speed i believe.
no such bottleneck on firewire or usb 2.0
