windows update reset??
I recently formatted my hdd to get rid of worms! Yes i know drastic but effective.
Well when i was doing windows update i lost a d/l. There was 17 items with 42 actual packets in them, and now they are in my update history and win update wont redownload them!ALL 42 are listed as failed! Q. How can I reset my xp pro to download(d/l) these items? Can it be reset ? Can they be deleted somewhere to re download them? Help pls, ambiancelover |

This could be a little extreame, but you could always reformat your hdd again and reinstall windows.

Open Windows Update - then click on Personalize Windows Update. Check "Display the link.....". save settings, then click on Windows Update Catalog. Click on "Find Updates...". Choose your OS then Search. Now you can redownload all you want.

Do the downloads that didn't take show up in the Add/Remove Programs of Control Panel? If so, try deleting them and then see if Windows Update will find them missing on the next scan and reinstall.
