New Dell P4 won’t wake up!!
New Dell P4 won’t wake up!!
A friend just bought two new Dell P4 Optiplex’s for his office. The problem is, if you leave it on over night, it seems like it goes into a “deep hibernation”. It responds to a mouse click about 60 seconds after you click. Opening the control panel takes about minute. Both computers do the same thing. If you re-start the system, it works fine. OS is XP Pro. I’ve got hibernation switched off in the control panel, power scheme set to “always on”, and the bios power save setting at S1. What’s up????????

The mouse is a wireless Logitech (usb) with the wireless keyboard combo. Yes, all XP updates have been installed.

Hit ctrl-shift-esc and bring up the task manager when this happens - is there any process hogging the CPU? I've seen antiviruses and firewalls do goofy things like this.
