I/O Error

Hi guys,

Just tried booting my other (Windows ME) computer up and I get an error message that reads:

Disk I/O Error
Replace the disk, and press any key

Any ideas on the cause and a way round it?

Cheers

John

He had to ask.......we all can overlook the obvious.

The next most likely thing to check is the hard drive health, you can do this with the drive manufacturer's diagnostics, it will be a free download and will make a bootable floppy when you execute the download.

Thanks for the help guys

Because i'd had 2 back to back problems in as many weeks I came to the conclusion my harddrive was knackered (to which I now know it is!) and so have taken the plunge and bought another one

Cheers
