Screen goes blank after booting

Just got home to to find my wife was messing with on of our computers and now when the computer is turned on you get normal graphics as it is booting but then it goes blank. She thinks she may have changed the colour or screen resolution but is not sure. Any ideas what she did and how to solve it?
( Running Win ME)

Thanks DM

How far do you get before it goes blank. If your getting past the BIOS load and to where windows is loading you should be able to get into safe mode, Do you know how to do that??

It seems to go blank after the splash screen and I think I may need to be reminded on how to get into safe mode.

Most likely a video display driver or settings problem. If safe mode goes OK, then you can be pretty sure that is the case..

Got into safe mode could no change any setting so used system restore and that seems to have fixed that problem now I seem to have lost the driver for the ethernet PCI card and windows cant find the driver on the floppy. Just going to see if I can sort that out if not it may need a new post.

Thanks again DM
