legal question
Hey i was reading on another post (1 winxp 2 computers?) somethign like that and it was talking about it being cheaper to buy winxp and buying additional serial numbers and activations. is it legal to buy winxp home, buy an extra serial for less, and sell the cd you get on ebay and just use the serial? it sounds totally legal to me but u never know, im j/w

Legalities aside, what would you do if you needed to do a reinstall if you had jettisoned your cd?

It wouldn't be legal and it doesn't work that way. At work, I have a corporate version of XP Pro. It doesn't require activation and each install uses the same CD key. That is perfectly legal. The only requirement that I have is to buy a license for each install, usually in lots of 5.
With XP Home, you could probably get a version like that but it would be more expensive and it would not be legal to sell the CD. |

Hm, ok. my only thought was since i already had the cd and if it was possible to do that i didn't want to waste any extra money.
