New Slave Drive NOT Recognized

OS: XP

I just installed a slave drive. It is recognized in the BIOS and in device manager it states it is working properly. When I go to my computer the drive is no where to be found. Any ideas?

If you are using an 80 wire IDE cable, make sure both drives are set to Cable Select, not Master/Slave.

Is the slave drive a hard drive ?
If so, then you maybe forgot to partition it.
Rightclick on My Computer, select Manage, then Disk Management, and partition your hard drive. Once paritioned it'll show up in Explorer and you can format it. Once formatted, it can be used.
