file creation
Hi folks
Sorry if I'm on the wrong board but couldn't find a category suitable. The problem is that at least once a day a file icon appears on the desktop, in properties it tells me when it was created etc. but I am not doing anything to create this file, my AV program tells me its not a virus and trojan hunter says there's nothing in the system, can anyone enlighten me on this, as usual, I'm confused. Hass |

What is the filename? Or the file type?

its only description is the tilde ~ symbol, no name etc. H

http://www.pchell.com/support/tildefile.shtml Nothing wrong with the file, you can safely delete it, or backup your address book first and then delete it, as the page suggests. |

Thanks for the info folks, thought i had another worm/trojan/virus in this system that i couldn't get out, as usual you folks have come up trumps. thankyou H.
