XP not detecting new HW

I have been using a Palm m505 for the past 4 months and it was working fine...all of the sudden it stoped communicating with the desktop.

I have try to do all the trouble shooting possible when it comes to Palm, but the major issue that I am having is this:

When I plug in either the cradle or the USB cable to the hub it does not detect it.

I tried connecting it directly to a USB port instead of a hub and still nothing.

I go to add new hardware and that does not work either.

Any suggestions to what else I should try?

Thanks!

First place to check is over in device manager with the device powered on and plugged into the PC via the USB cradle. Let us know what shows under USB..Did you try booting the PC with the Palm device plugged in first?? Is there a chance any settings have gotten changed, especially in the BIOS??

Yes all other devices are working....

After doing some reseach I found out that the 500 series from palm have a problem called sudden USB death...which causes the USB connection to stop working.

I am doing some trouble shooting and hope that it works!
