Win2K minimum req/real world req
Microsoft offers information on the minimum specifications for their operating systems. Generally, these specs are as they say..."minimum". Is there a site where I can find the "real world" requirements for Win2K, XP, etc.?
Thanks in advance! |

Thanks for the help!
BTW...enjoyed Unreal2 but could have been better. U2 XMP is the better part by far. Gotta luv the raptor turrets! |

![]() I finished Unreal 2 pretty quickly. It had good graphics, that's all I can really say about it. XMP was a definite improvement. I've had a lot of fun on there. I even played with and against one of the programmers at (the former) Legend Entertaiment named Pete. Those few games we played were so laggy b/c of a bad server that the whole time everyone was just chattin', it was funny. The Raptor turret owns in XMP. If you like vehicles I highly recommend UT2004. I saw a stat that half of the people playing Unreal2K4 right now are playing onlsaught mode, which is the mode with all the vehicles in it. I don't mean to go into a big rant about Unreal now but I've seen a lot of news lately about the so called Unreal 3.0 tech demo that is supposed to have blown everyone away that has seen it. Apparently the next Unreal game (in 2006, booo!) will be very pretty. Last edited by DragonNOA1; 03-29-2004 at 04:58 PM. |

For 2K, change that Pentium 3 to a Pentium 2/Celeron. 2K runs fine on those. The more ram you throw at it, the better it runs, 128 is a realistic minimum. I *have* put 2K on a 233MMX laptop with 64 ram, it was unacceptable, but upping the ram to 128 made a big difference.
