Windows Explorer crashes--please help!
For no apparent reason, over the last week or so, Windows Explorer has been crashing and restarting. I get no error message. This has happens sporadically and for no known reason. The last time, all I had done prior to the crash was click on the start menu. This resulted in my desktop disappearing and then rebooting.
Norton Antivirus detects no virus. Any idea what the problem could be? I'm tempted to do a repair install of Windows XP, but I'll wait and see if anyone has any better ideas. Thanks. |

Here are the instructions for your suggested SearchMenuFix:
"This tool fixes the following symptoms: 1. Nothing happens when you click any of the submenus in Start > Search 2. The following sub-menus are missing under Search: a. "For Files or Folders" b. "On the Internet" c. "For People" 3. You receive an error box with Yellow exclamation while performing a file/folder Search" Thanks for your suggestion, but my computer has none of those symptoms. My problem (I believe) is with Windows Explorer. Anyone else have any ideas? |
