I have a pentium 3 with 128 megs of ram and am running windows 2000.

You need to buy another stick of ram.
Most of us use 512mb as the mark, but if you're just surfing and using office 256mb will do. |

2k will run fine with 128 megs ram. Set the pagefile to 500mb min and max.
Control panel, system, advanced, performance options, virtual memory, change. |

yup glc is right .also try clearing startup , sometime it helps
