sharing printer

I have searched around, but I can't find any help on sharing a printer from a windows xp machine to a windows 98 machine.

more information is needed.

1. You can get a print server for around 30 bucks.

2. You can use the parralel port on the printer and put it on a computer then share it under control panel. But the other computer would have to be on.

3. You can get a router with a printer hook up on it.

4. if your printer has USB you can do the same as #2. but the computer would still have to be on.

Cool

Network the two computers and set the printer to share. I did it with WIN98 and XP PC's and currently do it with two XP PC's.

Once you can go to network and see the printer from the PC that does not have it directly connected to it, then you just have to install the drivers for the printer on that PC as well..

1. Go into the Printers folder and right click on the printer, select Sharing. Share it.

2. On the 98 box, go into Network Neighborhood and browse to the shared printer, right click on it, and select Install.

This assumes that you have file and print sharing enabled and have a functioning network.
