file ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupted

I have a Thinkpad IBM A21M with win 2000

and here is the story. soon after the install of a wireless router d-link I had some issues
here is the message I have

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt.

\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Please reinstall a copy of the above file

What I want to know is how to do this when I have access to nothing on my computer except when it begins to boot and I hit F8, it brings me the windows advanced options menu and no mater what option I chose it keeps on messing
