XP pro Install drama
Was trying to upgrade my computer from win XP home to pro.
All was working fine untill the first re-start. Then upon trying to refernece the XP pro CD I was using (borrowed from a friend) the CD disk could not be loaded - I later looked at the disk on another computer and found that when the disk was burnt that all the data was put inside another folder/directory layer making it impossible for the CD to be used as a boot disk etc etc as whn it looks for the files it needs they are embedded in another folder. dumb all the way round. what now - whenever I turn the computer it is trying ot read from a CD-have tried putting a correctly burnt version of the CD and still the saem problem. Also tried looking in my mobo book and found out how to re-load CMMOS setting did this. what do I have to do to get the computer to forget about trying to load windows. can't get into Bios.. anyone have any clues about what to do????? |

We cannot offer any support for copied versions of Windows, or any other copied software on the PCmech forums. Legal software is the only stuff we touch here.
