Double XP option on start-up?
I've just bought a second hand computer for my admin......it has XP installed already......when i boot up the computer, i get an option to start up 2 different XP systems (with a 25 second count-down)...it's like 2 different XP OS's were installed on C:
Is there a way to remove one of the (XP) OS's so i don't have to wait 25 seconds (or press enter) on start-up? Where would i do this?.....in XP?....in the bios?..... Thanks, Jazz |

I recently reformatted and have the exact same problem. I don't think it would be in the bios.

If you right click on My Computer > Properties. Click on the Advanced tab you should see somewhere in there about Startup and Recovery. You can set which one you want to boot up at first and how many seconds you want it to wait.
To remove an entry from the boot.ini (Seems you have 2) you can refer to this article http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q289022 Hope this helps some. |

No problem :-)
If this ever happens again with a winXP/win2k3 box you can use 'bootcfg' |
