New build do i activate windoww?

in the toolbar i get a little speach bubble asking me to activate windows.
shall i activate it now? what are the pro's/con's or do i just have to do it?

If you don't do it within 30 days XP will quit working so you have no choice.
Just click on the bubble and it will activate itself on-line, it's no big deal.

There are no pro's/con's about activating Windows. It's a "You either activate it or stop using it. Period." thing from Microsoft that should prevent piracy, as it is allowed to use Windows on one PC. So far you could install it on various PCs and nobody hindered you from doing this. But that is illegal so M$ introduced the product activation to find a way to prevent that illegal use of Windows. When you activated Windows XP on your PC, you can't activate Windows XP on another one. If you don't activate it on your PC it will stop working after 30 days.
