Windows XP, Home or Pro

I was pretty sure that I wanted the pro, but after looking at the pro box, the added features didn't seem to apply to me. I have a home PC which does about 70% internet surfing, 10% gaming(mostly kid's games), 10% office/ homework use, and 10% photo organizing/storage/CD making. Future use will be about the same, but with some increase in gaming and office use, I believe.

Which version do you think I would be best served by -- Home or Pro?

If you went pro, why?

Where is the best place to buy -- price, return policy, customer service, etc.?

home will do nicely for you.
the only time you would want or need pro would be if you had to connect to a large domain or are in a large network in a busness of some kind and needed some of the extra features.

in all likelihood, you will be fine with XP Home. the main advantage of pro is the extended networking capabilities, which you probably won't use anyway. there is a false assumption that pro is waaay better than home. this isn't true. Unless you know you need the pro features, go with XP Home.

I have PRO for the bragging rights, but if you want my honest opinion, then go with Home, it'll do ya just fine.
Good Luck and happy computing.
