XP Home SP1/Office 2000 installation problem

Hi
On a Toshiba laptop, I've just done a reformat, installed XP Home + SP1, Norton Antivirus, Microsoft security updates. No internet acces yet.

I'm trying to reinstall Office 2000 premium, the same version as was working before the reformat.

I can install from the CDs, entering the reg. no. and choosing the bits I want.

Then when i run the program (ie components like Word etc.) for the first time, I get the installation screen again, with my details and a request for the reg.code: but this time it is rejected. "invalid".

My version is an upgrade 2000: so I installed Office 97 and updated that, but that didn't work.

I think I got the screen the last timne i did this, but I managed to install Office. What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions?

Boom Problem solved!!! Aaaaaargh

I've solved my own problem. Simple really. The auto-reinstall for the Toshiba installed Word:+SP1, which remained even after I had installed Office: so when it asked for a reg key it wanted the one from the provided Works disc not from my own office disk.

I'm oh so happy.
