can someone explain microsofts oem policy? on the pcman site it says
"Licensing Information: You receive a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and a CD containing the program on it. This is a legal OEM version of Windows licensed by Microsoft to be sold with any "non-peripheral hardware component" and is bundled as such." and on scan it says "PLEASE NOTE :: To qualify for this licensing you need to purchase either a system, Motherboard or a hard-drive at the SAME time as the operating system." so which would be the best to buy from because im not planning to buy it with any hardware. |

i asked this same question ,but i cant find it in search.
i needed a new HD so i was fortunate but basically if you want OEM then you have to go with the companys policy, which is normally buy non peripheral hardware as well. otherwise its back to retail versions and the costs that go with it. maybe you could buy it with RAM ? I'm not sure and its gone up £2 at scan since i last looked

i think it would be cheaper to get it with ram. but can anyone explain what that means "This is a legal OEM version of Windows licensed by Microsoft to be sold with any "non-peripheral hardware component" and is bundled as such." 'and is bundeled as such?

just means comes with a hardware device or a new PC.
like i bought a BenQ CD rom and got nero express OEM bundled with the deal. it's probly M$ way of enticing you to buy their OS. |
