I have the following message at start-up: (Windows XP Pro)
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \system32\config\SYSTEM Please insert original xp cd and select 'r' from the first scrn available I have had a boot corruption erro before, but it was long ago on a different kind of file. I checked to see if the file is still there and it is. I have tried copying the file over from another system's I386 directory. Did not work. I did notice that the files were a differnt size. Should I try copying the file from another system's config folder? I am not sure how to use all of the recovery tools from the menu on the xp disc. How do I fix this? |
