Hi everyone:
I ran into a bit of an issue the other day while trying to update Win XP Pro. I seen the new patches were out so I went to downloaded them, but they refuse to install. "The Software that you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP. This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator." Sincerely Bill Gate I recently disabled a bunch of services, and I have a feeling that this is the source of my problems, but after a couple of days of re-enabling services and testing, the updates still refuse to install. Can anyone give me some direction? Thanx, Shaun |

Is your OS a legal copy activated on that computer?

Disabled Service - My Bad!!!
I just manually downloaded the files and attempted installing them. They still failed but the error was a bit more explanitory and told me make sure that the service "Cryptography" was enabled. So I checked, and sure enough it wasn't enabled. After re-enabling it I ran the .exe's and they installed no problem! Thanx for reading tho! Shaun |

Just in case someone els has problems with the updates but that doesn't help. If you have SP2 beta for XP and you get an error at the windows update site make sure you have automatic updates set to manual or automatic.
