I am looking for motherboard drivers for an Asus CUV4X.
The problem... Asus's website is broken for driver downloads on that model. When you click on the link an "page can not be displayed" error comes up. Looking around the net has not manafested any results. Need help. Thaks. |

That helps a lot...
However I see no XP drivers... only upto Win2k. What can I do? Will the Win2k drivers work under XP? Last edited by \/\/ickes; 04-17-2004 at 01:32 PM. |

My bad. I didn't ask what O/S you're using.
Have you tried to install XP using that mobo yet? XP is loaded with drivers and you may have what you need on the cd. Carl |

XP is loaded.
But it is hard to tell which drivers are needed because I am doing this over the phone with a friend. He tells me that everything is choppy and slow so I asked if he loaded the video drivers yet. He said no, so I told him to do it but make sure that the chipset drivers are loaded first. He does not know if they are loaded so we are just double checking by installing them by hand. I would not want him to install any video drivers without an AGP driver in place. |

That motherboard uses a VIA chipset. The XP Driver Database should have drivers for the VIA chipset.
If not, go to www.viaarena.com and download the hyperion drivers for XP. |

Just noticed that the mobo has Via chipsets which require 4n1 drivers. The drivers are part of XP so he should have the AGP working.
Choppy sounds like not enough ram and/or slow processor. XP takes quite abit of memory to run; at least 256mb. Carl |

He has enough RAM (288m) and his Box is a P3 733 which I think is fine for WinXP... he only uses it for music/MSN anyway, no games.

XP should load the drivers automaticly. So I don't think this is a chipset driver problem.
Install DirectX and then the latest video card drivers. How many programs are you running in the background? Perhaps some programs are causing the system to run slow? Last edited by Markoman01027; 04-17-2004 at 02:15 PM. |

It's a fresh install, we are trying to install drivers before we even think about installing more programs....
Standard windows XP (+sp1) install, nothing more... |
