Record something using the Microsoft Sam voice?
Is there anyway possible to record something using the Microsoft Sam voice? Also, how would I go about replacing the introduction to Windows sound? Thanks for the help!

Nope, it's one of the unused and useless features in XP, strangely enough.
As for replacing the startup sound, go into the control panel (and in classic mode) > sounds and audio devices > "sound" tab. All the windows sounds are there. Just look for startup.

Thanks for the help. Do you know where I can download other voice overs such as Microsoft Sam? I know they exist, but I don't know where to get them.

It's normally called "text to speech"

If Zac3010 is not familiar with Bonzi Buddy, he may have take your suggestion seriously, which would not have been very helpful at all.

![]() Zac3010, what exactly are you looking for? The link I provided will convert text into speech, and allow you to download the sound file. |

On the website you gave me I acidently checked the box that said "always open with this medium" and I want to open the file in Internet Explorer, is there anyway to do this? Also, I have the file I want, but do you know of a program that I can use to edit two audio files togeather?

If you want to record the voice you could loop the line out on your sound card to the line in then start recording using Audacity and play the sound.

It won't open it on it's own. If a website has an embedded player, then yes, it will play a specific sound file.

Sorry, I keep missing posts. Very nice program. Considering I'm not a programer and don't think like one, the easy GUI is great. Thanks Hi Ho! Now when I start my pc it says "Welcome MY-NAME" while playing over the standard windows opening sound.
