I am building my first pc from scratch I have 2 questions. First, I have xp preinstalled on my old pc is there anyway to copy that burn it to a cd and install it to my new computer?
Second, whats the differance between the oem version of windows xp($99),and the regular full version of xp ($199)?Both found at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati....asp?CatId=306 Any help is appreciated. |

I thought I just answered this question for you.
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=96175 if the xp system was preinstalled, you cannot use it on the new system, it has beem modified so that it will work only on that one machine. there is no differance between the two cd's except that the oem you will not have any tech support from microsoft on it. and the higher priced one you will have all the support that MS has to offer. |

A much better deal is XP Home OEM from Newegg for $89.00 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-141&depa=6
Plus you will find that most parts, if not all will be cheaper from Newegg and Mwave www.mwave.com Tigerdirect doesn't have a very good reputation around here although I will admit that their ratings from http://www.resellerratings.com has improved in the last 6 months. Charlie
