Only Admin can use programs
I am migrating from 98 to 2K. I have 2 K installed on another partition and I install all apps on a separate partition.
I have installed so far, Works, Office97 and Palm software. In each case I had to log on as Admin to install the apps and so they dont show up when "User" logs on. User is a "power user". Other than drill down and find the executables for the programs and put shjortcuts on the "users" desk top is there a way to install an applicaton so that all users and future users can access the app?

This is what I do, maybe there is an easier way:
After installing, I right click on the Start button and hit Open All Users. Move the window to a corner of the screen. Then right click again and choose Open. This window will have unique items in the start menu for the current user (you, the admin). If the shortcut is in there, I drag it to the right place in the All Users window. It's up to the user to drag them out of his/her start menu to the desktop if they want them there. |
