Question how do you search for printers?

trying to locate a printer, is there another way to search for it other than just trying to browse through the add printer wizard?
Thanks,
Ron

Yup, I just use the printer wizard. Just make sure the printer is set to 'share' or you won't see it.

You have the printer connected to one of the shared pc's on the network?
I only use win2k myself but i guess its the same with xp
When i share a printer i first search the computer trough which it is connected on the network. If the printer is set to shared on the pc it is connected to , it shows up in the same way as shared folders. when i double click on it, the drivers are installed, and i can print on it over the network. I never used the add printer wizard so far

hope this can help

You still have to use the wizard, but rather than browsing through all the network connections, you can select "Connect to this printer" and type in the network location (e.g. \\server\printer).

Depends on your version of Windows, but you go through My Network Places or Network Neighborhood, drill down to the shared printer, right click, Connect or Install.
